Mobile Information Right Place Right Time

Data where and when you need it!

Building innovative Enterprise Mobile Apps starts with a great idea from your MIC (Mobility Innovation Council), which in turn is made up of key a Business Users and Stakeholders - think of the MIC as an ideas factory.

These seeds of an idea should then be formed into an ADS (Application Definition Statement) of a mobile application that will ensure the secure delivery of Enterprise Content to the Information Worker Where and When they need it!

The key point is that the mobile app you need to build should ensure that the mobile user has access to the important information they need regardless of the location, even if that location has NO access to cellular or wireless networks! We all already heavily rely on our Converged Mobile Devices, whether they be a Smartphone or Tablet Device... as they present more and more important information, that can be consumed in new graphical ways. The more absorbed and engrossed you get, the easier it is to forget that you are doing this with a data connection. In fact we are now reliant on that data connection and will want more and more, in the future. Take iOS6 as an example... FaceTime over Cellular, rather than just wifi... More rich format Apple created Navigation and Maps etc... all taking more data!

I believe that planning and developing Mobile Apps for the times that a data connection is not available is essential and has a byproduct of saving money as unlimited data plans disappear, and we start to feel the true cost of being connected. Check out the SAP Mobile Platform and the Sybase Unwired Platform at its heart, to see who to do this in a future proof way with a MEAP

This 'always available, occasionally connected' development paradigm, that promotes local secure storage with bi-directional secure synchronization of data, will allow them to be proactive, rather than reactive, in the Right Place at the Right Time and give them the competitive advantage that they need in the current economic climate, where speedy reactions count.
